Sharon S. Camden, M.D., Ph.D. is a board-certified dermatologist who has been practicing medical and surgical dermatology in the greater Richmond area since 1990. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Medical Society of Virginia, Richmond Dermatological Society, and Richmond Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Camden is a cum laude graduate of the University of Delaware and continued her studies in the science field at the University of Arizona where she received her Ph.D. in Physiology. Dr. Camden taught Physiology at the Medical College of Virginia during her postdoctoral fellowship and then entered medical school at this same institution. She completed medical school and an internship in internal medicine at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Camden was accepted into the dermatology program and in her final year acted as Chief Resident. After completing her residency, Dr. Camden continued on at the Medical College of Virginia as an assistant professor for three years. Her duties included teaching dermatology residents and attending resident clinics.
Dr. Camden is experienced in treating a wide variety of dermatologic disorders of the hair, skin, and nails. Her areas of interest include skin cancer prevention, treatment of premalignant skin lesions and skin cancer, treatment of common and uncommon dermatologic conditions, and dermatologic surgery. She has special interest in treating all types of psoriasis and has light therapy available for entire body treatment as well as a hand and foot unit for localized treatment of psoriasis. Dr. Camden is skilled in using Dermascopy for evaluation of moles on the body and this tool helps in detecting melanoma on the body in its earliest stages. She is qualified to perform a wide array of office-based surgical procedures in patients of all ages.
Jean K. Calhoun, M.D. graduated from James Madison University and received her M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia. After an internship, she did a research fellowship at Harvard’s Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. She then completed her dermatology training at the Combined Training Program of Boston University and Tufts New England Medical Center. After completing her dermatology training, she went to work for Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates until December 2010. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She started here at Dominion Dermatology in April 2011 performing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Her areas of interest include skin cancer prevention, treatment of premalignant skin lesions and skin cancer, treatment of common and uncommon dermatologic conditions, and dermatologic surgery. She also has over 15 years of experience with removal of benign skin growths for cosmetic reasons, facial rejuvenation with Botox, Dysport, and various fillers, chemical peels, and lasers for treating redness of the face, brown spots and hair removal. At the present time, Dr. Calhoun is the only one in the Richmond area that uses a canula to inject a filler into the cheek area and not use a needle. With this procedure, there is no bruising or potential side effect that could happen from a needle injection in that area.
Dr. Calhoun is currently accepting new patients and participates with most of the major insurance companies including HealthKeepers.
Lynne McElroy Wold, CFNP, has been with Dominion Dermatology since 2004. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and treats both adults and children. She received her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Clemson University, where she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society. She completed her master’s degree at The Medical College of Virginia-Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating summa cum laude.
Prior to 2004, Mrs. Wold served as a nurse practitioner in the areas of family medicine, pediatrics, and internal medicine for 10 years. Additionally she has worked as a certified diabetes educator with adults and children. Her diverse background also includes cardiology and critical care.
Mrs. Wold is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and serves on the board of the Christian Medical Association. She is married and enjoys cycling, adventure sports, singing, and dancing.
Donna R. Jarvis, RNC/ANP, joined Dr. Camden in 2005. She has been an adult nurse practitioner since 1990. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
She has worked in the field of internal medicine with experience in HIV, nephrology, and diabetes. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Ms. Jarvis was a critical care nurse. She became interested in dermatology after working in a multispecialty group with Dr. Camden in 1998.
A native from Lenoir, North Carolina, Ms. Jarvis gradated from UNC Chapel Hill with her BSN and obtained her Masters in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University.
She has been a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners since 1990 and served as President of the local chapter.
Current areas of interest include but are not limited to early detection and prevention of skin cancer, treatment of eczema and psoriasis, and evaluation and treatment of sun damage.
